Wheaterville readers express their opinions.
Remember, we're just a glorified blog.

Over the back fence
Okay, folks. Admit it, reader comments are the both the best and the worst part of Wheaterville. Kinda like Thanksgiving dinner with your extended family. Management still hasn't quite figured out how to handle this part of the job. Bear with us if you please - and let us know what you think. If you can't stand the chaos, check back in a few weeks. Maybe things will be settled down by then... or maybe not...

watch out neighbor:
So neighbor, maybe "your dog is cold" is really just a way for the federalies to weasel their way onto your property and make sure you're not cooking up a batch of something you shouldn't be, or beating your wife. Of course with the Bush Patriot Act they don't even that much of an excuse do they now? Still it seems like you should probably make sure your neighbor actually made a call or you might have something more to worry about.

annoyed with my neighbor:
does anyone have a neighbor they wish they didn't? Today the police were at my house. Why? because my neighbor called them and said she was worried about the welfare of my dog, because of the cold. Thats all well and good, but........        I DON'T OWN A DOG!!!!!! This woman has been a nightmare from day 1. Does anyone else have crazy neighbors like me? Or am I the only one with this problem?

Why:
Who is getting paid off by banner. It make you wonder, they take over one million out of this town a year and the help does not get any better just the building why does the county not want to retake the hospital back. We know its not easy to start over agian, but to give away one million a year and get crapy service in just not good

Horse People Wonder:

Does anyone at wheaterville know what happended to the "Equestrian Park" that was planned out on Hwy 34? The platte commissioner board allowed it despite a lot of uproar and complaints that it shouldn't happen (water shortage and the Kidd ranch history with that and their feedlot) and now it looks like it's "no longer available"? The board of commissioners allowed parcels to be sold but nothing could be built. The ad below incorrectly says the property is in Sybille Canyon which it by no means is. It is about 25 miles from the canyon. Anyone know what's up with it?

Property Description:
Sybille Creek Equestrian Park is a unique horse property that incorporates open space with home owner common area that is known as the Rocket Wrangler Arena Complex, this contains three arenas that provide facilities for every equestrian including care pens for roping cattle and cutting cattle. The three arenas, one is for hunter jumper types, one for cutters and one for performance riders such as team ropers and barrel racers. The home owners assocation will have a on site care team to accommodate absentee owners property and their livestock. Each lot will have WID irrigation water delivered to their land by under ground pipe line and provide irrigation for hay and wind breaks while the district is running in the summer. Senic vistas everywhere you look from the lush riparian vally that is the confulence of Sybille and Brush creeks to the beautiful mountains that surround the site on three sides called the Larmie Mountain Range. One can only imagine all the wildlife that this area contains- Elk, Deer, Antelope, Mountain Lion just to name a few. This is a special development to which everyone will be proud to say they belong:

Location Description:
Situated in the the Sybille Canyon this property lies just 5 miles from I-25, South of Wheatland Wyo along State Highway 34. The site is terraced and slopes toward the valley allowing each home site virtually unobstructed views of the mountains and Sybille Canyon.

I have to agree with get real.  Look at all the donations given to them by local businesses and citizens.  However, we should not just critique the lobos, but all these sports and school fundraising projects.  Every time you turn around someone is asking for a handout.  Are there not paying projects we can offer these kids... for a reasonable wage?  Teach these kids some responsibility.  Quit the chicken noodle dinners and offer them a job.  If they don't want to earn their way make them stay home, maybe they will appreciate things more.

get real:
Hey lobo fan, What are you talking about "no recognition". That is all we heard about all summer, right up until they came back from Washington. Look at all the support that is given to baseball in Wheatland. Take a look at those fancy lights that cost a fortune not to mention the upkeep on lights, fields, stands, parking lots etc. Dont tell me the Lobos havent had enough done for them.

7th Grade & Freshman Volleyball:
I just wanted to congratulate the 7th Grade & Freshman volleyball teams for winning their conference championships on October 11th!  It takes great teamwork and dedication and these girls obviously have what it takes to be champs!
Great job girls - I look forward to watching you in the future!

lobo fan:
it's more than dissapointing that the Wheatland Lobos have received NO recognition or even mention of their second in a row state championship win this past week...why does this website even have a sports section when it's just outdated copied & pasted results of UW games??

Price Gougers:
It's interesting to drive through Wheaterville checking out the gas stations.  Every single station except than the Co-op exceeds the national average.  This is occurring in a state that has one of the lowest gasoline tax in the nation.  We should be a minimum of $0.20 per gallon below the national average.  One station exceeds the average by a whopping $0.19 per gallon.  $4.19 per gallon is dishonest.  Yesterday we paid $3.67 per gallon in a nearby city.  That's a ripoff of $0.52 cents per gallon.  You criminals may think you are awfully smart, sticking together to gouge us in our little town, but we will get even.  Right now I will use the Co-op, and when the Maverick station opens you price gouging SOB's will never get another nickel from me.

bored in wheatland:
Why is it that this site never updates itself? All i see is Glendo this and glendo that. What about wheatland? Did we not have a Motocross for the 4th of July? What about the pat on the back for the guys that put that together? There is alot of things going on here in Wheaterville that noone ever talks about. Like why is the public pool so hot? Whats up with that? The water is like 80 degrees!
