The Firehall is being torn down as we type.  The project is in motion now.  Yes it took a long time to get going, but at least all aspects were looked at is my opinion.  This is tax money and it should be scrutinized by the powers that be. 

I think the Fire Department has gotten plenty of support by the public with a new building.  Look at the Police Department for instance......That building they are in is tiny and you dont hear them complaining and wanting more and more all the time.  The Fire Department needs to take a backseat after this hall is built. 

Show me where its stated the fire dept is wanting to put a bar in. Is that also in the council meeting minutes? Its just amazing how unsupportive alot of Wheatland people are for thier fire dept.!
This new fire hall issue has been hashed around for just too long now!. The sales tax election past, how long ago? Now get the hall built so the county can get onto new things. That sales tax election worked out great for the rest of the Platte county towns. Its time for the people of Wheatland that are bad mouthing this project to get an attitude adjustment! Like a swift kick somewhere!

Well Really, as a matter of fact that is what the City Council was told by the Fire Department.  The money is coming from a fund they have that was given to them from an estate.  So the answer to your question is yes I have done my research.  I attend most of the council meetings and listen to the business unlike most of the people who just sit around and complain without any participation. 

Get your facts strait DAMNED!!:  If this is really your name, it must be difficult signing checks! Is there anything in your post you actually researched? Or is it all just what you were told by someones brother that knows someones sister that knows someone on the fire dept.?

The Fire Department will not be "coming up with the money on their own." They were given some money from an estate is what I was told by one of the high rankers and a small portion of that money is what is going to pay for the upper floor.  There was never an upper floor in the ballot anyway and it is yet another luxury for the WVFD that runs 200 calls a year.  You need to do some research before throwing out random assumptions that you come up with.  Not only that but lets talk about the fact the WVFD wants to have another bar in the upper floor of the building.  There is no reason there should be a bar in a fire hall.  

After reading your posts about how bad the "Ambulance Man" is I would hope those guys never find out who you are because you just may need them some day.  Oh I am sure they will never find out who you are because you just hide on here and use random names to bash.

Well folks here it is again I found out that the city would not put up the money to put the floor in the second floor of the fire hall so the members of the fire department had voted to come up with the money on their own. That sucks that the city will not support our fire people, and that the fire department has to take care of the city building on their own. There are a lot of good people out there supporting the fire department, and I wish there were more, but our city government would rather put tax payer money into a city counsel mans ambulance service than there own building. Stand up people and vote for someone that will support everything that helps us all out not just one mans pocket.

But it was on the blueprint that was showed to the public, and now you just talk about what you can get away with, thats right screw the people; whats in it for you?

        Maybe you ney-sayers need to check into what it would cost for the city/county to fund a PAID fire dept...you wouldn't be grousing about what little our VOLUNTEERS get.   At a minimum it would need to employ somewhere in the neighborhood 25 trained firefighters.

The upstairs was not in the ballot initiative. It called for 4 bays, weight room and a conference room.

Disgusted has a point with their comments.  The town does show a lot of support for EWAS.  Maybe one of us firemen should pony up and run for office.  I personally don't feel like we are lacking anything in the department but I do see your points on here.

We did not vote on a scaled down size, and there is not an upstairs anymore from what is was told. It sounds like everyone got there hand out first, and then you cut the budget. The city has always screw the tax payers, and now the fireman have been screwed out of what they had started out with, but you just take a good look at the ambulances and the city council man who owns them and how much the city supports him!

Hey the firehall has everything that you voted on. It was scaled down to get under budget.

You either are wanting to start a Clerk war here on Wheaterville, or you are just dumb. The clerk doesn't make those decisions. If you are wanting to start a war like that for county clerk votes that is dumb also because you will lose. If people start going crazy on the Wheaterville, all the crap will come out, so be ready for that. There are 4 people running for clerk and only one knows how to do the job. As for the fire hall, that was a mistake from the get go and the taxpayers took it up the behind.

What the heck is going on with the fire hall? What is the town council doing with the tax payers money, or should we say the city clerk; she seams to be the one making all the  decisions, and telling everyone what to do. I hear the the good old boy network is in place and olind const. will be building the new hall, but it is to be smaller than what WE THE PEOPLE Voted on. But who cares what was voted on just cram it down our throats, and tells us this is what you get. 

To truly understand why the new Arizona law is so important, you need to live here.  It seems the majority of people opposed to this law do not live in Arizona, or they are afraid of being deported back to their own country.

So what are ya'll thinking about Arizona?  I get irritated that I have to show my ID for everything I do, even use my credit card, and I KNOW if I get stopped by the cops that I darn well better have my DL and regis, and insur papers in hand...so what is all the fuss about???  These are not special stops on anyone, only asking for ID in the normal course of events.

Regarding the Suggestion to PC:
I am considering running for the school board. I would be happy to provide whatever information necessary. Tax records are public information. Surely there will be opportunities for candidates to be questioned on issues, although some of what you mention seems a bit off the radar of most voters.

 Platte County will have elections this year for new school board members, county clerk, county treasurer to name a few positions. Our county should set an example to the rest of the USA by having candidates for every position post their birth certificates and tax records for all to see. They should also be asked in a public forum what their postion is on Gay Marriage and if the USA should support our troops. Also, each candidate should say what they think of taking away our guns. We can be the first place to require these proofs and answers of all our candidates. This is true transperency in goverment and would go a long way to showing people who you are and that you are red blooded Americans. We do care where you were born and also if you are a tax cheat or a terrorist or an illegal alien. This matters to all voters. Platte County, we are Taxed Enough Already. Who agrees with me? Candidates we want to hear from you and no answer is an answer.
