Did You Really Watch the WHOLE Game?
The WSJ reports that an average football telecast is about 174 minutes long, under three hours. In that time, viewers see about an hour of commercials, 75 minutes "between snaps" where players walk around or huddle, and just over 15 minutes of replays.
Add it up. That leaves 11 minutes of actual football.
Thank Goodness for TiVo.
